Evaluation Services
When a government or private organization gives someone grant money to implement a certain program, the funder often requires that an external evaluator design and implement a plan to collect and analyze data to show whether the program is accomplishing its stated goals.
I've been in the program evaluation field since 2004, working independently and with other evaluators to provide data collection, analysis, and other evaluation services (including surveys, interviews, and focus groups) for a number of federal, state, and private grant programs. I have a master's degree in education and most of my evaluation work has been in the education field, though I have also provided services in other areas.
You can see a list of some of my current and recent evaluation projects below, and a list of some of the evaluation services I provide here. Please contact me if you are looking for an evaluator for your program, or need assistance with data collection or analysis for a particular project.
Here are a few of the evaluation projects I have worked on:
- Data collection, statistical analysis, and technical assistance for the Wake County Public Schools.
- Evaluation of a science education and outreach program for high-school students in Harnett County.
- Evaluation of multiple environmental science education and student leadership programs for middle- and high-school students as part of the Onslow County, NC, Sturgeon City Institutes.
- Lead evaluator for a National Science Foundation grant which seeks to enhance math education for deaf students by providing an online video library of math terms and curriculum materials.
- Design and implementation of an online data-entry and reporting system for a participatory research project involving industrial safety at multiple United Steelworkers union sites.
- A mail survey of current and former clients of Calvert Laboratories, a pharmaceutical research company, to gather data to inform business expansion plans.
- Evaluation plan development and technical assistance for multiple service providers working with Durham's Partnership for Children, a non-profit providing early childhood education and family support services.
- A Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) grant awarded by NIH to Fayetteville State University. The grant program sought to increase the number of minority students pursuing advanced degrees in the biological sciences.
- Administration of online surveys of university faculty and students as part of a Research Infrastructure for Minority Institutions (RIMI) grant awarded by NIH to North Carolina A&T University.
- Administration of online surveys of university faculty and other program participants as part of a Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) grant awarded by DOE to Duke University.
